Project: Student Welcome Pack
One of our collaborations with the University of Salford was the development of their annual student welcome pack. This project was a comprehensive effort involving:
- Packaging Solutions: We sourced custom packaging that was both functional and impactful, addressing previous issues of damaged goods and ensuring a professional presentation.
- Asset Management: Coordinated the printing and integration of various assets from multiple suppliers, handling large quantities of confidential data and adhering to strict deadlines.
Importance of Print: The student welcome pack is a critical touchpoint for new students, making a lasting first impression. Print plays a vital role in this project by:
- Enhancing Brand Presence: High-quality printed materials reinforce the University’s brand image and create a memorable experience for new students.
- Effective Communication: Well-designed print materials effectively convey essential information and the University’s tone of voice, making the onboarding process smoother and more engaging.
- Building Connections: Physical materials help establish an emotional connection with new students, setting the stage for a positive start to their university experience.
Their Challenge
Before partnering with us, the University of Salford faced several challenges with their printing needs. They experienced inconsistencies in print finishes, colours, and service response times. Their major project, the annual student welcome pack, was particularly problematic due to issues with packaging, including damaged goods and delays, compounded by the complexity of managing large quantities of confidential data and tight deadlines.
Our Solution
To address these challenges, we implemented several tailored solutions:
- Packaging: We sourced new packaging solutions that were both functional and impactful, significantly reducing the risk of damage during delivery.
- Colour Consistency: We utilised LED UV printing technology to solve the problem of colour inconsistency. This advanced printing method ensured precise and reliable colour reproduction across a range of materials.
- Project Management: Our team managed the entire process, including sourcing packaging, evaluating weights, and coordinating mail sorts. We also handled the integration of assets from other suppliers.
- Communication: Continuous updates and transparent communication ensured that any obstacles were addressed promptly with alternative solutions, maintaining the project’s integrity and timelines.
The Results
The collaboration led to substantial improvements for the University of Salford:
- Quality and Consistency: Enhanced print quality and consistency in collateral, meeting the University’s high standards.
- Reliability: Improved reliability and support, ensuring smooth project execution.
