Business Development Manager (Full-Time)

📍 Location & working pattern

This is a field-based role covering the North of England, with regular travel to meet clients across the region.

You’ll typically spend:

  • A couple of days a week in the office at B&B Press in Rotherham
  • Some time working from home
  • The majority of your time out on the road meeting clients, building relationships, and developing new opportunities

We’re looking for someone who is comfortable being visible in the market, getting in front of people, and making the most of face-to-face meetings.

💰 Salary + Commission

Up to £40,000 basic + uncapped commission
Realistic first-year earnings: £50,000–£55,000+

  • Strong commission on new business wins
  • Ongoing commission on retained accounts
  • Clear structure that rewards both winning and growing clients

🎯 What you’ll be doing

  • Winning new business across the North of England
  • Building and managing your own pipeline (with support)
  • Meeting clients, understanding their needs, and quoting solutions
  • Onboarding new clients and setting them up for long-term success
  • Working with internal teams to deliver high-quality outcomes

📊 Targets & expectations

  • Year 1: £250k–£300k new business
  • Year 3+: £400k+ annual new business

First 3–6 months:

  • Get out, meet clients, build relationships
  • Generate quotes and onboard ~2 new clients per month
  • Focus on clients with £30k+ annual potential

After this, you’ll refine your approach and focus on larger, higher-value opportunities.

👤 What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in business development or sales
  • Someone proactive who enjoys getting out and meeting people
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Comfortable managing the full sales cycle
  • Experience in print or a related sector is a bonus (not essential)
