Five common myths about professional printing dispelled

Are you looking for ways to meet deadlines and elevate your brand without ever having to compromise on quality?

Professional printing can help professional services organisations deliver quick turnaround projects in the tightest of timescales and make your business stand out from the crowd in the process.

But while there are many benefits to be gained from investing in professional printing, there are also many myths out there too. Keep reading, we’ve dispelled five of them for you so they don’t catch you out:

MYTH 1: ‘Outsourcing my printing will take longer to do than if I do it myself.’

This myth is something we’ve heard quite a few times during the 60 years we’ve been in operation and it’s quite understandable why so many professional services companies might think this.

However, the truth of the matter is that industry-leading professional printers are set up to be as slick as possible, from their processes, to the equipment they use. Take our LED UV printers with their instant drying process, for instance. They’re an instant time-saver - we estimate this technology alone can reduce the turnaround of most of our printing jobs by around 40 per cent. (For more information about the benefits of LED UV, check out our blog).

What’s more, if your professional printer is anything like us, then they’ll provide you with the complete one stop shop solution, not just simply take care of your printing requirements, which saves you the time (and hassle) of having to deal with multiple suppliers.

MYTH 2: Professional printing is too complicated for me to get my head around.’

Sound familiar? Well, if this is you, then the good news is that professional printing isn’t complex at all. In fact, most operations (like ours) are set up to be as quick and easy as possible, regardless of whether or not you’ve used us once or 50 times.

Thanks to our dedicated account management service, you can be sure that your project is being delivered as efficiently as possible plus, you’ll be updated on the progress that’s being made, every step of the way.

MYTH 3: ‘My project’s far too large to outsource.’

This simply isn’t true. Most professional printers have plenty of experience of dealing with printing projects of all sizes, scales and subject matters and, if they’re anything like us, they’ll excel when it comes to delivering larger print runs.

If you’re not sure if your supplier can handle your project, particularly if you’re working to a really tight deadline, it’s best you ask them for examples of any large projects they can share with you, from the outset. That way, you have clear assurances that they’re right for the job and, you’ll also be able to check out the quality of their work too.

MYTH 4: ‘I won’t be able to guarantee consistent results.’

Yes, you will, every time. If your professional printer’s anything like us, then they’ll work to the latest industry standards and guidelines to ensure everything they produce is in line with industry guidance. They’ll also work to quality standards too, such as ISO9001.

It’s one of the reasons why some of the customers we first catered for 60 years ago still use us, because of the consistent results we produce time-and-time again.

MYTH 5: ‘It’s easy to make an expensive mistake when you outsource your printing.’

As with most specialist services, printing mistakes can be expensive, but that doesn’t mean you have to be caught out by them.

Choosing a printing supplier who has the resource and expertise to produce test runs of your projects, means you’ll be able to make any last-minute refinements and adjustments before it’s too late. You’ll also save yourself a lot of time and hassle in the process and avoid making any nasty costly mistakes.
